About VCSA


Purpose

The VCSA has formed to be a working coalition made up of representatives from the security industry and law enforcement and fire departments within Ventura County. As providers of safety and security products and services, it is committed to the success of all its members and to the increase of communication, cooperation, and professionalism within its ranks.

The VCSA is to be non-profit and does not contemplate financial gain or profit, incidental or otherwise.

Mission

The VCSA exists to serve the welfare of the citizens of Ventura County and its members through the free exchange of ideas and the sharing of information and technical developments within the security industry. The Association’s goal is to aid the creation of, and lend support to, sound municipal legislation in the areas of safety and security, which will contribute to making Ventura County a safer place to live, work and visit.

Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics denotes a voluntary commitment by members to an obligation of self-discipline and cooperation above and beyond the requirements of the law.

Members acknowledge a responsibility:
  • To promote and safeguard high standards of services within the security industry
  • To encourage and support sound legislation involving areas of safety and security, which contribute to making Ventura County a safer place to live, work and visit.
  • To promote co-operation between municipal safety providers and security industry clients
  • To promote and sustain constructive dialogue among security industry providers
  • To educate and inform the community about security issues
  • To fully cooperate in all matters dealing with burglary, fire, arson, and fraud investigations
  • To share with their colleagues the knowledge, methods, and strategies they find effective in serving their clients.
  • To conduct their business practices in a way that will be beneficial to society
The obligation of fidelity to the client's interest is primary, but it does not relieve a member of the obligation to support all lawful endeavors to determine the true facts and render honest, unbiased reports.
